5 Tips for Lifelong Learners

There is sometimes a misconception that learning stops when you leave school (be that high school, post-secondary, etc.). In reality, learning is a lifelong journey. One that, with the right set of tools, can be incredibly fruitful. Here are five tips to help lifelong learners.

#1: Keep an Open Mind

Congratulations! You have successfully heeded this lesson simply by reading this article. If you keep an open mind and leave the door open for new ideas, you never know what that might entail. This process can include reading an article, watching the news or simply having a discussion with a friend.

#2: Upskill your work

One area where lifelong learning comes particularly in handy is in the workplace. If there is a skill you feel would be beneficial to your job, why not learn it? Nothing ventured, nothing gained! Our friends at the Institute of Productivity have a plethora of upskilling resources. Reach out to us for more info!

#3: Find Your Passion

Lifelong learning isn't simply confined to professional development. Pursuing a passion is an important aspect as well. If there is something you want to learn for personal use, such as a language or a subject, do it! Make a movie! Learn the guitar! Take in Ancient Egyptian history! Pursuing a passion is a key part of learning for life.

#4: HELP(P) is on the way!

Nisai's Holistic English Language Proficiency Program (Or N-HELPP) is designed to make English easier for learners of all ages. If this is something you feel might benefit you or someone you love, please contact sales@quillsoft.ca for more info.

#5: Once You Start, Don't Stop!

It can be easy to get in the habit of learning, but just as easy to fall off. Do not let this happen. Take the time to learn, enjoy it, savour it. This is a time for personal growth, so there is no reason to cut that short.
